With the wretched Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, which estimates that 233 million people in sub-Saharan Africa were hungry/ undernourished in 2014-6 (its most recent estimate). And 795 million people were hungry worldwide. AJC’s efforts are not only limited to preaching the Gospel in the traditional way. We believe that God wishes “–that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2). Jesus preached the Gospel, but he also fed the five thousand. ( Matthew 14:13-21)
The situation is heartbreaking in some areas in Africa. We work within communities that suffer from severe hunger and malnutrition of which many are innocent children. Their adorable affected faces and suffering body tell all the story. They are dying of hunger and thirst. Their crying are a prayer to God, and a call to the world. Does anyone care? Can anybody get there or reach them before they take their last breath?
AJC is extending and reminding you of the calling of these loving brothers and sisters who desperately need our hep. Together, we can make a change. We can help them at least get by.
Poverty and drought has afflicted thousands. Hunger and malnutrition continue to be the major contributing cause of death for children and adults in some areas in Africa and other third world countries.
AJC Nutritional Feeding program has been developed to provide not only relief from starvation to impoverished African communities with a depleted basic human resources, but also aims to further innovative interventions implemented to promote agricultural development, education, social and economic development.
AJC feeding programs are mainly focused on young children in rural areas with less privileges, and areas devastated by poverty and drought. Would you extend a helping hand to these people?
